Why not take a trip to Barcelona, if you fancy both avant-garde and tradition? It has a contemporary persona symbolized by the Sagrada Familia church, but also has medieval roots, reflected by the mystifying Gothic Quarter. The innovative food, quirky art and architecture, or the vivacious street life will take you to cloud nine. Its restaurant scene in the Boqueria market varies from small tapas bars to fine dining.
This multiethnic city of Spain is blessed with a pleasant Mediterranean weather, inherent exquisiteness, and colourful display of cultural joys. No wonder Barcelona has become a year-round tourist spot. Among the abundant things to visit and discover in this stunning city, the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia is what makes for a striking yet peaceable visit. The ultra-modernist buildings beside the renowned fashion brands in Passeig de Gracia are bliss for shopping and architecture aficionados.
Close your day in Barcelona with a walk along its most prominent beach. Just sit on the sand for a while, or relish a drink at one of the many elegant beach bars. Life is good!

Since July and August are usually quite hot and humid in Barcelona, the best time to visit would be in the early summer (May-June) and autumn (September-October), when the weather is pleasant and there aren’t as many tourists. So if you want the very best of Barcelona, try visiting in early summer or during the autumn, and avoid August if you can, when it is hot, humid and high-season prices are applied in hotels and restaurants. Our favourite months for visiting Barcelona are May, June and September.
