3-day Paris travel itinerary

Paris couple

This is a 3-day travel guide to the most romantic city in the world: Paris!
It is filled with art, culture and delicate cuisine that is incomparable to any other city and you will surely be blown away by its beauty. It is not only suitable for couples, but also an ideal getaway for families and friends. No matter where you’ll stay in Paris, most neighborhoods have their charm and will provide you with a unique experience. With that being said, I wish you a wonderful stay and may your trip be filled with unforgettable memories!

DAY 1:

Paris is walking city, my friends, and that is the best way to explore this gorgeous city-by foot! First head to Pont Alexandre Trois, which is probably the prettiest of all bridges in Paris. It spans over the Seine and gives you excellent views of the Eiffel Tower. And while there, why not stroll to the Eiffel Tower? This magnificent piece of architecture never gets old, even for locals. You now have the choice to take a boat ride (however, a dinner cruise at night is the epitome of beauty) or simply keep on walking for just a little while longer! Afterwards make your way to the trendy neighborhood of Montmatre to spend a leisurely afternoon there. You won’t be in lack of shops and cafes here! That’s also where you will find the beautiful cathedral Sacre Coer , the so-called Love Wall, or to sound like a real Parisian, you may call it Les jet’aime, as well as a great dinner place called Comptoir de la GastronomieI assume you will be tired after your first day and especially after all this walking, but if you happen to be a night owl, then let your last stop be Le Montana, a fancy nightclub with celebrity status that opens at 11pm. Dress in your best to impress for this one!

DAY 2:

I recommend getting an early start on your second day (how about 8am?) and may you guess to do what? Walking! Start at the Arc de Triomphe, walk along Champs Elysees and head to the Louvre Museum (Tickets for Louvre Museum: Skip The Line).  However, don’t forget to stop at Laduree on your way there to have at least one of their famous macaroons! You haven’t seen Paris if you haven’t been to Laduree! And of course, the Louvre will take up quite a bit of your time, but it’s worth every minute of it. I will give away a little secret here: Don’t stand in the main line to get in. The museum has 2 additional side entrances that are much less crowded and waiting times there are minimal. Afterwards check out the beautiful Jardin de Tuileries, a public garden in near proximity, placed between the museum and Place de la Concorde. Next stop: Late lunch at Angelina. First and foremost this place is known for their desserts and excellent hot chocolate, but it also serves a delicious lunch, if you haven’t eaten yet. For your remaining afternoon hours, I suggest heading to Le Marais, a great place for shopping and the arts. Sometimes you will find unique exhibits here, which are usually free, so make sure to keep an eye out for it! And even if you’re not intent on buying anything, it’s a fantastic area for window-shopping and strolling through cute, narrow Parisian streets. For dinner, I highly recommend the oldest restaurant in town, Le Petite Chaise, with its lovely charm and old-style French cuisine. If you are looking for evening entertainment, you can always rely on the ballet, modern dance performances or plays, sometimes performed in English. Should we call it a night then? If you disagree, try Le Dandy or Chez Carmen, another two very good nightclubs.

DAY 3:

Depending on where you live, you might have heard of the chain restaurant Le Pain Quotidien. It’s a cute little bistro-type restaurant that serves really good food and great coffee/chocolate drinks. This is a perfect breakfast spot to start your last day right and they have locations all over the city. If you go to the one close to the Opera, head there afterwards. The building is breathtakingly beautiful! If the doors are open, I beg you to go inside and explore (no pressure to buy opera tickets, I promise). While in the neighborhood, visit the department store Galeries Lafayette, even if it’s only to go up to the terrace to take in the city views! Then treat yourself with some steak frites at Poulette, a great bistro that will stimulate your food senses. In the afternoon, stroll along the Ile de la Cite, which is one of the best walking paths in Paris. It will provide you with solitude and great picture opportunities! If you are in want of more beautiful scenery, then pay a visit to Jardins du Luxembourg,  a gorgeous palace with adjoining gardens that are so very lovely to walk through, no matter what time of the day.

Jardins du Luxembourg

For dinner, I dare you to try a Sushi restaurant called Tokyotori. Let me just say, it’s quite good! And even better: It’s in walking distance from the gardens!

With this, your 3-days trip is complete- I hope you enjoyed my favorite city!
